Insular Life's Wealth Series funds post highest performance

MANILA, Philippines - Insular Life, the biggest Filipino life insurance company, through its Wealth Series products, posted its highest performance for the peso and dollar denominated fixed income funds, since its launch in 2005 and 2007, respectively. 

As of Nov. 16, 2009, peso fixed income and dollar fixed income funds posted returns of 42.41 percent and 12.84 percent, respectively.

Its equity and balanced funds also posted significant returns on the same period. Since its inception in 2005, returns are at 62.47 percent and 44.94 percent, respectively. These are levels well beyond the experience recorded in October 2008, when the sub-prime crisis erupted. Just to show the healthy movement by which these two funds are growing, year-to-date and year-on-year returns for equity fund are 60.17 percent and 58.40 percent, respectively, while balanced fund’s are 26.52 percent and 27.40 percent.

These performances are very much indicative of some promising things to look forward to in the economic horizon. With interest rates remaining at low levels coupled by expected increased spending in the upcoming elections, it is likely that the performances, especially on the equities market, will still be on its way up.
