SM Green Retail Agenda opens today

MANILA, Philippines - SM Prime Holdings, Inc. and SM Supermalls will hold today an environment conference entitled Green Retail Agenda: Moving Towards Sustainability at the SMX Convention Center located in the SM Mall of Asia, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The SM Green Retail Agenda is a series held annually to provide awareness and conservation among mall tenant business owners. It is an annual conference geared towards building awareness and encouraging retailers to transform their business and “go green.”

Today’s trend in the retail industry has focused not only on being profitable but also on being responsible to the environment so that it is protected and preserved for generations to come. This is what constitutes sustainability.

Speakers will present the latest issues and trends in green retailing focusing on conservation, enhancement of efficiencies, the reuse and reduction of environmental footprint through design, technology and materials.

Additional of the topics for discussion are environmental regulations, money saving tips and green product innovations.

This year’s keynote speaker is Stephen Lillie of the embassy of the United Kingdom while inspirational speakers include Vice Admiral Emilio Marayag, deputy chief of staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, and Chin-Chin Gutierrez, founding chairman and president of Alaga LAHAT.
