Bayad Center expands CSR program

MANILA, Philippines - CIS Bayad Center Inc., the country’s pioneer and leader in the one-stop no-frills over the counter bills collection-payment industry, has expanded its CSR program called Bayad Mo, Buhay ko to include victims of typhoon “Ondoy.”

Bayad Center president and CEO Manny L. Tuason said part of the payments for public utilities such as Meralco, PLDT, Smart and other bills at Bayad Center counters nationwide (excluding SM Payment Centers) will be set aside to help Ondoy’s victims.

“Bayad Mo, Buhay Ko” is a corporate social responsibility (CSR) program, certain amount from payments made by clients at any Bayad Center branch is set aside and remitted to UNICEF and World Vision, the regular beneficiaries of the program.

“The fund generated will form part of Meralco’s fund raising drive for the relief and rehabilitation of Ondoy’s victims in Metro Manila and 27 other provinces which have all been declared and placed under a state of calamity,” Tuason said.

He said Bayan Center’s contributioini to Meralco’s typhoon relief effort applies to all bills paid from Oct. 1 to 31 only. Donation proceeds from bills paid outside the period will revert back to UNICEF and World Vision.
