MANILA, Philippines - The Department of Environment and Natural Resources-Environmental Management Bureau-National Capital Region (DENR-EMB-NCR) and the Water Environment Association of the Philippines Inc. (WEAP) will conduct a basic training course for pollution control officers (PCO) on Aug. 11-14 at the Great Eastern Hotel, Quezon Avenue, Quezon City.
The course, a periodic DENR-EMB-NCR-WEAP cooperative effort, is spurred by the celebration of the World Environment Month last June.
The four-day seminar will orient the prospective PCOs on the different environmental laws and their corresponding rules and regulations, EMB policies and programs and PCO duties and responsibilities. EMB-NCR Director Roberto Sheen will lead the training course to help the various industries in improving their environmental management, pollution prevention and clean production programs. Successful participants will be accredited as full-fledged PCOs.
