PRA cites power of 2 I's for retail success
MANILA, Philippines - The national president of the Philippine Retailers Association (PRA) recently cited the value of innovation and information for retailers to survive and succeed in a downturn period.
In ceremonies with sponsors of the 18th National Retail Conference and Exhibition (NRCE), Bernie H. Liu, PRA president and chief executive officer of Golden ABC Inc., said that retailers who innovate are bound to reap the harvest of the times.
“The innovators make the first move to pursue and learn new things. Then they piece together new schemes with the right information about elements of their businesses,” said Liu, as he noted that more retailers these days are looking at IT-based systems to immediately get vital information out of their business operations from point of sales.
PLDT Business Solutions, SM and Banco de Oro lead the roster of sponsors for 18th NRCE which will be held with the theme “Opportunities in Crisis” on Aug. 12 to 14 at the SMX Convention Center beside SM Mall of Asia in Pasay City.
Jorge T. Mendiola, PRA chairman and SM Shoemart senior vice president for operations, also joined PRA officers during the contract signing rites with NRCE sponsors held at the Crown Plaza Hotel at the Ortigas Center. Other sponsors are Araneta Center, Inc., Ayala Center, Chronos, Memo, Robinsons Malls, Eastwood Mall, Celine Marketing Corp., Wilcon Builder’s Supply, Inc., LTimeStudio and Rusty Lopez.
