Vegetable Congress set July 14-16
MANILA, Philippines - The 7th National Vegetable Congress will be held on July 14-16.
The sessions of the three-day congress will be conducted at the Family Country Hotel and Convention Center in General Santos City in Cotabato.
Venue of the event’s technology demonstration of vegetable seed companies is the 10-hectare farm of boxing icon Manny Pacquiao in Malungon, Sarangani.
The congress will be organized by the Central Mindanao Vegetable Industry Council in cooperation with the Department of Agriculture-Region 12.
To be hosted by the Sarangani provincial and General Santos City governments, the event will have for its theme “Accelerating the Development of the Philippine Vegetable Industry in Response to National and Global Challenges”.
Expected to attend the congress are more than 500 members of farmers’ associations, vegetable traders, consolidators, concessionaires, service providers, and representatives of national and local government agencies, nongovernment organizations, and the academe. — RAF
