CREBA sets forum on housing

MANILA, Philippines - The Chamber of Real Estate and Builders Associations (CREBA) will hold a public forum on “Socialized Housing: Concerns and Opportunities” at the Legaspi Room of Hotel Intercontinental in Makati City on June 26, 2 to 5 p.m.

Resource persons are Eduardo T. Manicio, executive vice-president, Social Housing Finance Corporation (SHFC), and Brigido R. Simon Jr., executive vice-president, CREBA Social Housing Foundation Inc. (CSHFI). This was announced by CREBA national president Jaime A. Cura; Techie P. Bautista, CSHFI president, and Avelina P. Acuña, CREBA vice-president for internal affairs.

Manicio was formerly vice-president for funds management at the National Home Mortgage Finance Corp.; project manager for the sale of the P13 billion non-performing loans to Development Bank Real Estate Global Opportunities.

Simon is president of the President Advocates for Servant Leadership; president-board chairman, Bumbarab Development Corp.; and coordinator, Gawad Kalinga in Paradise Heights (formerly Smokey Mountain). He served as community organizer, association secretary, federation and finance officer, Slums of Tondo Foreshorland; and consultant, Mindanao Development Authority.

CREBA is the country’s oldest and largest organization of real estate and housing builders, professionals and consultants. Atty. Manuel M. Serrano, is the principal founder and incumbent board chairman. CREBA is a member organization of the International Real Estate Federation (FIABCI) based in Paris, France, and has affiliates abroad.
