Eastern Petroleum continues expansion in Visayas, Mindanao

- Donnabelle L. Gatdula -

MANILA, Philippines – Eastern Petroleum Corp. (EPC), one of the country’s most aggressive small oil players, is continuously expanding its network in the Visayas and Mindanao.

EPC chairman and CEO Fernando Martinez said the company recently opened its first station in South Cotabato last May 14.

Martinez said the 1,800-sqm, three-island gasoline station located at Polomolok, South Cotabato will supply the fuel demand of the residents and motorists of the town and its nearby municipalities.

According to Martinez, the favorable business prospects in this municipality made them decide to put a retail gas station in the area.

Polomolok’s growth and progress is being sustained by its rich agricultural resources. In fact, it is home of one of the biggest pineapple plantations in the country.

EPC is the first independent oil company to set up and operate a fuel depot in Gen. Santos City way back in 2005.

The oil company is now on its aggressive stance to expand its facilities in the Soccskargen growth corridor, eyeing another mega station in GenSan within the year.

The station promises to be a one-stop shop for everyone, particularly growing local and international tourists spending their vacation in the city.

Martinez said, EPC is open to other local businessman for joint ventures and expansion in Davao Region, Southern Mindanao and Central Mindanao.

EPC is one of the founding members of the Independent Philippine Petroleum Companies Association (IPPCA) .
