Convergys to open 3 more call centers in RP

- Ma. Elisa Osorio  -

MANILA, Philippines - Business process outsourcing (BPO) firm Convergys will open three of the five call centers in the pipeline for its expansion plan in the Philippines, the company said yesterday.

Last year, Convergys said it will expand its operations in the country by opening five call centers which will create 7,000 more employment opportunities for Filipinos.

The three centers scheduled to be inaugurated tomorrow are in Cebu Asiatown i3 in Cebu City, the UP-Ayala Land TechnoHub in Quezon City and the Nuvali TechnoHub in Santa Rosa, Laguna.

The company said it remains on track of its expansion plan and is forging ahead with the establishment of two more sites, still under construction, over the coming months.

With the completion of the three additional centers, Convergys now has 12 operational contact center facilities in the country with approximately 16,000 employees.

The Nuvali TechnoHub is a ‘green’, environmentally-friendly facility that will accommodate approximately 900 employees. This is the first contact center facility for Convergys in Santa Rosa, Laguna.

The Cebu i3 facility will be Convergys’ third site in Cebu City and is deemed one of the fastest growing locations for the company outside Metro Manila.

The UP-Ayala Land TechnoHub site can hold up to 1,000 employees and is Convergys’ seventh center in Metro Manila.

President Arroyo will be the guest of honor for the simultaneous dedication of the three new contact center facilities through a live video feed.

Convergys president and CEO Dave Dougherty, Andrea Ayers, head of customer management and other senior executives of the global company will be flying in to attend the event.

Convergys has 84 contact centers worldwide.
