NEDA ICC pushes 3 new projects
The National Economic and Development Authority’s (NEDA) Investment Coordination Committee Cabinet Committee (ICC-CC) has endorsed about P5.4 billion worth of three new projects to the NEDA Board for approval.
These infrastructure projects are the New Naga Substation Project in Cebu, the Bohol Backbone 138 kilovolt Transmission Project and the Samar Pacific Coastal Road Project.
The proposed P1.3-billion New Naga Substation project involves the construction of a new substation in the municipality of Naga in Cebu.
The funds will be used for the installation of transmission lines as well as protection, control and communication systems.
According to the NEDA investments committee, the project is targeted to be fully operational in July 2010.
The project is expected to serve as the main point of power distribution from the Visayas grid to the major load centers in Cebu City and in the neighboring municipalities, NEDA said.
Another Transco-proposed project, the Bohol backbone transmission project, has also been endorsed for NEDA Board approval. It involves the installation and construction of a 95-kilometer 138 kV overhead transmission line intended to improve the efficiency of power transmission in Bohol.
