TIM sets up Cebu office

-

Information technology firm Total Information Management Corp. (TIM) will open this month its fourth fully-operational business recovery center (BRC) in Cebu.

Since pioneering the BRC business in the country in 1994, TIM has already set up three back-up data centers and office facilities in different cities in Metro Manila.

Company officials explained that this strategic endeavor marks TIM’s inter-island reach of its BRC business in the VisMin area, particularly in Cebu which ranks next to Metro Manila in terms of attracting global business operations.

“We envision our Cebu BRC to replicate, if not surpass, our success in Metro Manila where our data center and office facilities have served as the back-up and disaster recovery sites for large company-subscribers such as banks, insurance firms, manufacturing companies, software development shops, and even telcos for the past 13 years,” said Jose Mari Antunez, TIM president and CEO.

The TIM BRC in Cebu, built at a cost of P40 million, is scheduled for inauguration in the next few weeks.

Similar to TIM’s existing BRC facilities in Metro Manila, its design is based on world-class standards for data centers in terms of ISO quality compliance, 24/7 availability, support for multiple computing platforms, uninterrupted power supply, infrastructure protection, physical security and multi-telco network connectivity.

TIM, a 100-percent Filipino-owned IT company established in 1985, is a leading technology services company providing hardware, software, maintenance services, system integration, business recovery and outsourcing services for some of the country’s largest enterprises.    – Mary Ann Reyes
