Toshiba sees market share doubling with new products

- Ma. Elisa Osorio  -

Japanese brand Toshiba is looking at doubling its market share as it added three new printers in its line.

Nolan Landayan, Tricom manager for the Digital Imaging Systems Group said Toshiba, through its local distributor Tricom Dynamics Inc. said the company plans to increase its  five-percent market share to 10 percent by the end of the year.

“With the launch of these new products, we hope to double our share in the business,” Landayan said.

The new products include the e-Studio 2500c, 3500c and 3510c full color multi-functional printers. The prices of the e-Studio series range from P500,000 to P1 million.

He said the company has lined up a series of road shows and promotional activities to boost the sales of e-Studio series nationwide.

Aside from this, Landayan said the company is targeting to add at least five more dealers for the year, including Baguio, Tacloban, Iloilo and Bacolod.

Likewise, the printers have AES 128-bit HDD Data Encryption Function, a program designed to secure data. “This encryption is so powerful that even Toshiba personnel are not able to retrieve data without the special security key provided to the organization,” Landayan explained.

Landayan said they are confident the new printers will bring Toshiba closer to existing market leaders said Fuji and Canon given their superior features that combine high speed, superior image quality and perfect color in one network system.

Before the end of the year, Landayan said the company will launch the E18105, the first black and white printer-based multi-functionalprinter that will be dedicated to the consumer market with its entry level price of P10,000 to P15,000.
