Megaworld unit to build de luxe hotel in Eastwood

- Ma. Elisa Osorio  -

Prestige Hotels & Resorts Inc., a unit of Megaworld Corp., is constructing a P482-million hotel at the Eastwood City Centrum in Libis, Quezon City.

The de luxe class hotel, to be called Eastwood Park Hotel, will have 136 rooms and is expected to start commercial operations in December 2009.

The 38-storey facility will rise in an 856-square meter facility owned by Megaworld Corp.

The executive guest rooms and most of the suites will occupy the 34th to 39th floors, while the standard and the de luxe guest rooms will be at the 29th to 33rd floors.

The fifth to 28th floors will house the residential suites, with the ground floor to the fourth floor housing commercial spaces that would be up for lease.

Megaworld will be operating the residential suites located at the fifth to the 28th floor, while Prestige Hotels & Resorts Inc. will take charge of the operation and management of the rest of the facility.

The hotel will have two function rooms on the 37th floor that can accommodate more than 60 people for conventions, banquets, parties, meetings and conferences.

It will have a coffee shop, lobby lounge and restaurants, and other amenities and entertainment facilities.

It will also have recreational facilities such as a commercial mall at the podium floors, landscaped gardens and swimming pool with arched trellis, a paved sunbathing deck and children’s playground.

There will be an exclusive hotel drop-off and another entrance to service the residences.

The project, which will generate 127 fresh jobs, has been endorsed by the Department of Tourism for government incentives.
