U-Bix Corp. an integrated office systems and services provider, has acquired the Kodak Imaging Center (KiC) Philippines business.
U-Bix chairman Edilberto B. Bravo said the acquisition includes KiC’s document and microfilm scanning, database creation and management, encoding and data entry, and essential mail printing services.
Bravo said U-Bix will continue the operations of the KiC business under the name UBix Data Center. It will also retain the services of all KiC’s key managers with a combined experience of more than 40 years, as well its 300 employees.
“This new opportunity will not only challenge our corporation’s skills but also enable our ability to chart a new vision,” Bravo said.
KiC, as the outsourcing service arm of Kodak, has been the leading outsourcing service center for professional image and operation outsourcing services for nearly 30 years.
U-Bix is the market leader in the copier and printer business, providing integrated office systems and services for more than 30 years, and is the exclusive Philippine distributor for Konica Minolta digital multifunction printers and copiers.
Among the other products and services by the U-Bix group include Risograph duplicating machine, Okamura (one of the top three office furniture companies in Japan with U-Bix as its first its exclusive distributor in the Philippines since 1993), Epson printers, scanners and multi-media projectors, Brother fax machines and laser printers, Casio projectors and digital camera system, ServiceMaster facilities maintenance, Terminix termite and pest control and Merry Maids homecleaning services.
Since its inception in 1974, U-Bix has evolved from a company of 20 people into the country’s largest integrated office systems provider with a workforce of 800 employees and a network of 24 branches all over the Philippines.
