French syrup maker enters RP market

French syrup maker Monin Inc. has entered the Philippine market in efforts to widen its distribution channel in Asia.

Founded in 1912 and still operated by the Monin family, Monin is the largest and best-known producer of premium flavorings for beverage and culinary applications.

Monin president Olivier Monin said the company hopes to encourage Filipinos to use flavored syrups as a sweetener.

Monin products are widely used for coffees, desserts, alcoholic drinks, non-alcoholic drinks, hot or cold beverages, and sauces.

"Each year, we procure the very best natural raw ingredients from more than 20 countries, selecting only the premier suppliers. Then we process these ingredients, with no additives, no preservatives, nothing that would hide the pure flavor. What you enjoy in each bottle of Monin is the finest syrup available anywhere, a culmination of 94 years of flavor excellence," Monin said.

Monin is now in over 100 countries worldwide including the United States, Russia, China, Japan, Taiwan, Australia, Turkey and Africa. It is also in Morocco, Malta, Tunisia, the Carribean Islands and West Africa, where the tropical fruit used in Monin syrups came from.

Since its inception, Monin has already earned numerous distinctions. It is a member of the prestigious International Bartenders Association and is the only brand of syrup to appear side by side with world-famous trade names in drinks and beverages.

Monin is the official sponsor to the World Barrista Competition to be held in Switzerland.
