3 DOE agencies cited in top 10 list

The Department of Energy (DOE) has reported that three of its attached agencies have been included in the top 10 list of Institute of Corporate Directors’ (ICD) good corporate governance practices.

These agencies are: the National Electrification Administration (NEA), the Philippine National Oil Co. (PNOC) and the National Transmission Corp. (TransCo).

"As head of the Energy Family, I am proud of your achievement and I commend you for that. Your accomplishments should encourage you to continue the pursuit of your vision," Energy Secretary Raphael P.M. Lotilla said.

Lotilla has also commended NEA for being in the list. "I call on NEA to take these accomplishments and use them as a constant reminder that we should work even harder in the pursuit of our noble goals. Much has been accomplished, yet much still needs to be done. Ours is a promise not just to energize, but to deliver quality and efficient electrification services to the people in the countryside. Thus, I congratulate you for all your achievements but at the same time pose the challenge for you to accomplish even more," Lotilla said.

NEA Administrator Edita S. Bueno said this accomplishment is a welcome development for the agency.

According to Bueno, NEA and the electric cooperative are indeed inching their way closer and closer to their goal of total electrification of the entire country.

Presidential Adviser on Rural Electrification Francisco G. Silva congratulated the employees for a job well done.
