IBM opens new global services delivery center in RP

-
IBM has opened a new global services delivery center in the country to consolidate and significantly expand its operations to meet the growing market demand for business transformation outsourcing (BTO) services in Asia Pacific.

"The expansion of IBM’s global delivery operations in Manila is confirmation of the value our clients are deriving from BTO and the strength of the Philippines as a location for a global service delivery hub," IBM Business Services president Renato Jiao said.

He noted that the success of the company’s services delivery operations is also due to IBM’s long history, experience and deep commitment to the Philippines. "The infusion of advanced methodologies, best practices, and development of local talent is part of IBM’s commitment to grow the Philippines services industry," he pointed out.

The center is operated by IBM Business Services, a wholly-owned subsidiary of IBM and is one of two centers located in the Philippines. The other center is operated by IBM Daksh and delivers CRM services to a number of multinational companies.

Companies are increasingly seeking to optimize business performance and generate growth through the improvement and management of business processes and technology. The IBM center, located in Eastwood City Cyberpark, currently houses 370 staff; the combined workforce of its former Makati Center and pre-existing Eastwood City operations.

The new center will allow IBM to better leverage its investment in technology, infrastructure and people, as well as further expand its BTO capabilities in human resources (HR), customer relationship management (CRM), and finance and accounting processes.

The center will continue to transform and deliver HR BTO services in eleven languages to more than 178,000 employees of Procter & Gamble and IBM located in 65 countries. The HR services currently delivered through the center include payroll calculation and delivery, benefits administration, expatriate and relocation services, enquiry management and call center, compensation planning, travel and expense processing, and IT application management.

The Manila center is part of IBM’s integrated global services delivery network of more than two dozen centers located around the world that delivers the scale and expertise necessary to operate and continuously improve business processes and technology solutions to create sustainable business value for clients anywhere in the world.

"BTO takes a business process, innovating, transforming and operating that process to allow our clients to be more agile, resourceful and responsive to the needs of their people and customers," said Randy Walker, Asia Pacific general manager for BTO of IBM Business Consulting Services.
