PAL adds fourth Vancouver flight

-
Philippine Airlines will operate an additional weekly direct flight between Manila and Vancouver starting May 11, 2003, raising total frequencies between the two points to four times weekly.

To be operated every Sunday, the new frequency will follow the same timings as the current Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday flights.

Departure from Manila (PR 106) is at 7:30 p.m. and arrival in Vancouver at 5:00 p.m. the same day.

The return service, PR 107, departs Vancouver at 11:15 p.m. and arrives in Manila at 4:15 a.m. two calendar days later. (Manila time is 16 hours ahead of Vancouver’s.)

Airbus A340-300 aircraft will continue to be deployed on the route. The well-appointed widebody jet seats 12 in First Class, 32 in Mabuhay (Business) Class and 220 in economy.

PAL is the only carrier offering non-stop flights between the Philippines and Canada, both ways.

The flag carrier’s direct service has experienced a surge in bookings since April as travelers sought to avoid transiting through intermediate points in the region, particularly those affected by the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) virus.
