President Arroyo to keynote ECOP national conference

-
President Arroyo leads the array of personalities who will grace the 24th National Conference of Employers (NCF XXIV) organized by the Employers Confederation of the Philippines (ECOP) on May 22 and 23 at the New World Renaissance Hotel, Makati City.

The President will deliver the keynote address which caps the two-day gathering of employers all over the country.

The theme of the conference is "Mobilizing Business for the Nation," which underscores the need for business to preserve and create decent and meaningful jobs and boost and sustain the national growth momentum – by becoming both globally competitive and socially responsible, in unity with other sectors of society.

Business leaders are looking forward to the Chief Executive’s keynote speech where they expect her to make policy pronouncements relative to creating and sustaining an enabling environment for business to prosper such as fair rules which apply to all, a secure business environment, a bureaucracy which provides business-friendly services, a judiciary which metes out fair decisions within a fairly reasonable period, availability of essential infrastructures at reasonable prices, industry-focused support from the education and technical-vocational skills development sector and an institutionalized system of dialogue and consultation on fundamental issues affecting business, among other vital issues.

NCE XXIV is chaired by ECOP vice president Claus Sudhoff and co-chaired by Francisco R. Floro, chairman of ECOP’s SME Division and ECOP governor and treasurer Fe T. Palileo.
