Cebu Pacific launches new service to Seoul

-
Cebu Pacific Air will introduce two new services to Seoul next week, starting on Dec. 25 from Cebu and on the 26th from Subic.

This is on top of its twice-weekly direct Manila-Seoul flights every Monday and Friday.

Using a 179-seater Boeing 757 aircraft, the airline’s Manila-Subic-Seoul service is scheduled on Thursdays and Sundays, leaving NAIA for Subic at 12:10 p.m., then leaving for Incheon International Airport at 1:40 p.m. for the five-hour flight to South Korea.

The Manila-Cebu-Seoul flight is set every Wednesday and Saturday, departing Manila for Cebu at 1:25 p.m., Cebu to Incheon at 3:35 p.m. and arriving in Incheon at 9:15 p.m.

Cebu Pacific’s entry in these new routes was prompted by the airline’s desire to assist in marketing both Subic and Cebu to Korean tourists.

"Both destinations have so much to offer," said Cebu Pacific VP for sales Salvador Ramirez. "Cebu has its beautiful beaches and resorts that feature all kinds of aqua sports. Subic has its botanical gardens and ecotourism activities."

Ramirez added: "We want to play a more aggressive part in promoting, not only these destinations, but the whole country, to local tourists and foreign travelers. With these new services, we hit both markets at once."

In anticipation of opening more domestic and regional routes soon, Cebu Pacific has added a third Boeing 757 aircraft and three Stage 111 DC9 aircraft to its present fleet of 14.
