Downloaded sex scene

NOT BUSINESS AS USUAL - Margaret Jao-Grey  -
The whole Internet system of a company didn’t work for about five minutes when an executive downloaded the edited out sex scene (supposedly 20 minutes long) of actress Sunshine Cruz in a movie she made before her marriage but which is now only being talked about.

For the inconvenience (well, Ms. Cruz’s body shots have nothing to do with the company’s bottom line) to the company, the Internet privileges of an executive was suspended for six months.

Lucio Tan has been quietly buying land in Bohol, specifically in Panglao which is said to better than Boracay in terms of beach and diving spots.

In a proclamation order to be signed by President Macapagal-Arroyo before end-November, Panglao will be developed into a tourism estate.

This means its protected mangroves will be reduced from about 2,000 hectares to less than 400 hectares. The rest of the mangrove preserve will then be titled and claimed either by government or by those who have a document such as a tax declaration to prove it. Of course, once titling is completed, the acknowledged owners can hold on to the land or sell.

Eco-tourism is one of the twin-strategies of Governor Erico Aumentado to lift the standard of living of his province, which has improved from being the seventh poorest among the country’s 78 provinces two years ago to 16th place today.

By the way, the airport in the capital of Tagbilaran will be transferred to Panglao. The old airport will be converted into an industrial park.

Bank notes 1: The search for a president-in-waiting to Security Banking Corp. is over. Based on an inter-office e-memo sent yesterday morning. Alberto Villarosa has resigned from Bank of the Philippines to join Security as chief operating officer.

Yesterday was also Abet Villarosa’s first day of work at Security.

It’s no secret that president Rafael Simpao Jr. wants to spend more time with his lay apostolate work upon his retirement a couple more years in the future. When that happens, Babes Simpao will continue to serve the bank he has helped strengthen as a director.

Bank notes 2: Juan Luna’s "The Parisian Life" will be at the GSIS Museum next week. Right now, the painting is still in Hong Kong until all the paperwork necessarily for its shipment back to the Philippines is completed).

This will be a first major acquisition for the museum of president Winston Garcia.

Ironically, it is Mr. Garcia’s predecessor, Federico Pascual, who is an avid Luna fan. On his own, Ding Pascual has been collecting Luna’s minor works and sketches – none of which are even near the P50 million paid for "The Parisian Life" – when he handled the international operations of the Philippine National Bank days.

Then and now, Mr. Pascual would visit Spain once a year to scour the flea markets, hoping to add another long-lost Juan Luna to his collection.
