The Fonkard Plus, which comes in various denominations, is the country's leading prepaid payphone card that allows users to place all types of calls in over 12,000 payphones nationwide.
This time, customers may also use this P200 denomination card as a payment facility to avail themselves of admission and rides in Storyland, the indoor theme park in SM Southmall and SM Fairview.
The card introduces a new dimension to its services by enhancing its utility. "Aside from being the leading payphone card with the lowest rate for voice calls, it is now the first prepaid payphone card that can be used as payment facility for non-telephone transactions," PLDT Fonkard product manager Ane Guzman said.
For his part, PLDT marketing vice-president Jonjon San Agustin said: "We are very proud to introduce this groundbreaking innovation in the market. This is our way of serving our customers better because we are now giving them the added benefit of convenience and security to the same card they have been patronizing all these years."
He added that there are more exciting breakthroughs that consumers can expect from PLDT Fonkard Plus. "This is only the first of many more to come," San Agustin said. The SM Storyland Fonkard Plus can be used through a simple plug and play‚ operation wherein it can be easily swiped into a terminal. The amount of the transaction is subtracted from the remaining card value. At the same time, it can still be used to make voice calls on PLDT payphones.
