Intel CEO to visit RP

Intel Corp.s chief executive officer Craig Barrett, will visit the Philippines on Aug. 26, and meet with key government officials to discuss initiatives to accelerate the countrys information and communications technology (ICT) agenda, it was announced yesterday.
Barrett will also meet with prominent business leaders to encourage private sector participation in the development of the countrys ICT landscape.
Barrett will also highlight the vital role of science and technology education in the countrys pursuit of continued growth. He will underscore the importance of widespread technology accessibility across all segments of Philippine society to ensure competitiveness in a world increasingly shaped by digital technologies.
Intel, the worlds largest chipmaker, is also a leading manufacturer of computer, networking and communications products.
