Asian Spirit resumes Cebu-Tandag flights

-
The country’s fourth largest airline Asian Spirit has added another feather to its cap as it recently launched the resumption of its Cebu-Tandag-Cebu flights.

Tandag is the provincial capital of Surigao del Sur in the Caraga Region. It is located in the northeasthern coast of Mindanao facing the Philippine Deep.

"Asian Spirit’s decision to open the Tandag route is not only a boon to tourism but also to the industrial growth of our province," Lakas stalwart Rep. Butch Pichay said. "Surigao del Sur is blessed with long stretch of white sand beaches, lagoons, caves, waterfalls and cold springs, perfect for adventurous and thrill seeking tourists," Pichay added.

At the moment, the airline flies three times weekly on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays departing from Cebu at 7:30 a.m. and departing from Tandag at 8:45 a.m.

During the inaugural flight, the Asian Spirit contingent, led by Asian Spirit vice president for commercial Butch Rodriguez and vice president for airport operations Rodolfo Garcia, was met by government officials of Surigao del Sur and Tandag, led by Librado Navarro, provincial vice-governor, Marybet Ty-Delgado, Tandag City Mayor and Tandag City Administrator Johnny Pimentel.

"The resumption of the flights solves the transportation problems which severely affects commercial and tourism operations in the province. Now we can compete and be at par with the other fast developing tourist destinations," Delgado said.

Butch Rodriguez, for his part, assured the government officials and the people of Surigao del Sur that Asian Spirit will develop its air service between Cebu and Tandag, consistent with the company’s mission of building bridges for progress.
