The service, which is BellTels first foray into the consumer market, is being provided in alliance with cable TV operator Destiny Cable.
According to BellTel vice president for sales and marketing Joby de Belen, the service will allow more people to have access to always-on broadband Internet and cable TV at lower rates and higher quality-of-service.
"With iCable we are giving consumers not only the advantages of broadband cable Internet service but the opportunity to save on their communications and entertainment costs as well," De Belen said.
"While other operators are starting to increase their rates, we are offering our iCable Personal subscribers download rate of up to 128 Kbps with a Committed Information Rate (CIR) and cable TV service for only P2,500 a month," he explained.
He added that subscribers of iCable would be upgraded to BellTels three-in-one service integrating broadband Internet, cable TV and digital telephone within a few months, with no extra charge.
iCable also has other variants, ranging from iCable Professional to iCable Enterprise, that are designed to meet the needs of small and medium enterprises.
iCable is part of BellTels next generation range of communications solutions. BellTels flagship broadband service is iDirect, a fixed wireless system that integrates telephony and high-speed Internet access into one service, and covers a majority of the Metro Manila area and its southern provinces.
