US-based firms top the long list of foreign participants in the Philippines biggest international agribusiness trade show slated at the World Trade Center Metro Manila on Oct. 18-20.
Many of the American firms joining the trade show dubbed Agrilink 2001 will be brought in by the Illinois Department of Agriculture.
These firms include Am-Cam Inc., Ag World Inc., and the US Livestock Genetics Export Inc. (USLGE), a non-profit trade association of the American dairy, beef, sheep, swine and horse breeding industries.
The USLGE also represents the leading departments of agriculture from top livestock-producing states in the US.
On the other hand, Ag World supplies genetics for all species through live animals, embryos, or semen. The company is also the international distributor of Ranco Corporation, a leading manufacturer of modern ultrasonic pregnancy, back fat, and loin thickness testing equipment for the livestock industry.
Likewise an equipment supplier, Am-Cam specializes in the export of animals, which include cattle, swine, horses, sheep and goats. Am-Cam helps buyers to determine the farm animals that best suit their requirements, and makes all the arrangements for testing, documentation, insurance and shipping of the animals to their countries.
Their products and services will be showcased at Agrilink 2001 to enable the local agribusiness industry to update their breeding stock, improve their technologies and modernize their farming methods.
At the same time, they may enter into joint ventures, marketing tie-ups, or explore other business opportunities on a reciprocal basis during and even after the staging of Agrilink 2001.
The eighth since 1994, Agrilink 2001 will be held in tandem with Foodlink 2001, the 2nd International Food Processing/Packaging and Food Products Exhibition.
These twin events are organized by the Foundation for Resource Linkage and Development (FRLD) and the Netherlands-based Jaarbeurs Exhibition and Media.
Other details can be obtained from the FRLD (tel. 8384549, 8384852; fax 8384573, or email [email protected])
Last years Agrilink and Foodlink attracted 148 foreign and local exhibitors, and 12,100 visitors.
