INFOXX, a US-based information service firm, will invest $3 million or P150 million to set up a new overseas call center in the Philippines which will provide directory assistance for major telephone carriers, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) announced yesterday.

Infonxx plans to locate at the Eastwood Cyberpark in Libis, Quezon City.

The firm will hire about 700 workers and will start commercial operation by December this year.

MacDonald said they made an exploratory trip to the country last June and were "immediately impressed with the good service orientation of Filipinos everywhere we went."

Aside from being good in English , MacDonald said, Filipinos are also proficient in information technology skills.

MacDonald also acknowledged Roxas’ help in facilitating their entry into the country.

Infonxx’s headquarters is based in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. It is a provider of enhanced information services and handles more than 13 million enhanced directory assistance call a month.
