The Association of Health Maintenance Organization of the Philippines, Inc. (AHMOPI) and the Philippine college of Surgeons signed recently an addendum to the memorandum of agreement between the organizations during ceremonies held at EDSA Shangri-La.
The addendum forms part of the agreement between the AHMOPI, the PC and its affiliated societies for an urgent need to agree on certain issues on the provision of the surgical specialty care of health maintenance organizations (HMO) patients that affect them.
The MOA pegs the consultation fees of primary care doctors, regardless of specialty, and for secondary and tertiary who are fellows and diplomats of the PCS and/or its affiliated societies.
Primary doctors are those who provide initial care including assessment and medical intervention for HMO patients seeing healthcare services.
