AMA launches ‘technopreneurs’ incubation services

-
AMA Investments Corporation (InvesCorp) is offering business incubation services for Information and Communications Technology related projects of bonafide students and alumni of the AMA Education Systems (AMAES).

Jay De Luzuriaga, AMA Capital Managing Director, said that AMA InvesCorp has recently established Technology Business Incubator Centers (TBICs) in selected campuses of AMAES for students and alumni to have the necessary support and resources to bring their ideas, projects and thesis to commercial fruition.

"These technology business incubators shall provide our technopreneurs effective and efficient access to business infrastructure, facilities, networking resources, and seed capital," he said.

AMA InvesCorp launched two new TBIC programs with their respective brand names: the AMA Genesis and the AMA Zoom programs.

The AMA Genesis program will assists students in coming up with viable business entities from their ideas and projects relating to information technology, communications, software development, e-commerce, Internet, robotics, and the like.

The AMA Zoom program will nurture and accelerate existing but young and fledging businesses having high growth potentials. The TBICs will provide these startup companies with joint venture and funding opportunities with other parties, either foreign or local, networking resources, and the requisite working facilities.

Both programs are expected to spur and ignite the latent creativity of existing students. A candidate or applicant must meet certain requirements and must pass the screening and accreditation stages through the TBIC director and the InvesCorp panel composed of in-house and outside experts from various fields. Each TBIC is headed by a TBIC director, and the candidates or proponents can choose a TBIC nearest them.

To accommodate more applications, TBICs have been initially set up in AMA Computer Colleges in Makati City, Quezon City, and Antipolo. Future TBIC sites would cover AMA’s campuses in Cebu, Davao, Baguio, Bacolod, and in the Calabarzon area.
