Total Phils changes corporate name

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) approved on May 4, 2001 the change in the corporate name of Total Petroleum Philippines Corp. (TPC) to TotalFinaElf Philippines Corp. (TPC).

The change is a result of the merger of TPC’s parent corporations, TotalFina and Elf Aquitaine, now known as TotalFinaElf, one of the world’s five biggest oil and gas companies.

TPC president and managing director Jeff Attwood said the new name is in line with the overall strategy of the TotalFinaElf Group.

With the SEC’s approval, all correspondence and transactions of TPC will bear the new corporate identity. The company, however, can be reached at the same address in Makati City.

Established in the Philippines in 1997, TPC now has a total of 29 service stations in the country, with three more nearing completion and soon to be operational.

Recently, TPC marked a milestone in the history of local fuel distribution when it inaugurated one of Asia’s most sophisticated oil distribution terminals in Alas-Asin Mariveles, and only last week formally opened the expanded LPG distribution facility in Tabangao.
