Asian Spirit Airlines is managed by the Airline Employees Cooperative. Asian Spirit concentrates on servicing passengers to secondary routes, providing means for efficient travel to places once inaccessible.
According to Oñate, "Asian Spirit aims to bring the people closer to one another, promoting solidarity and establish modern airline services to the different islands to contribute to the country’s development."
At present, Asian Spirit services 22 destinations all over the archipelago with a fleet of two Dehavilland-Dash 7 (50 seater), two LET 410 (20 seater), five YS-11 (60 seater) and three newly acquired CASA-CN235 (42 seater).
Aside from Oñate, the other members of the Asian Spirit board of directors are: Antonio Turralba, chairman, executive committee; Capt. Antonio Buendia, president; Joaquin Po, executive vice president, Archibald Po, Paul Lim So, Cornelio Maninang and Virgilio Farcon, Jr., corporate secretary.
Oñate is an AB & MBA degree holder of Ateneo de Manila Universtiy. He is a member of Management Association of the Philippines (MAP), Makati Business Club (MBC), Rotary Club of Makati South (RCMS), and Philippines, Inc.
