'iecep 2000' gets DOTC's full support
Undersecretary for Communications Agustin Bengzon has expressed his full support for this year's major telecommunications and information technology, "iecep 2000," which will be held on Sept. 4-7 at the Philippine International Convention Center.
As chairman of "iecep 2000," Bengzon called on the Institute of Electronics and Communications Engineers of the Philippines (IECEP) to adopt "a more positive and aggressive role to face the challenges of a highly technology-driven industry which the Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) has been mandated to supervise under a framework of liberalization, convergence and globalization to meet the country's requirements in the New Millennium."
"iecep 2000" is an international exhibition and conference on convergent technologies, featuring the latest innovations in the telecommunications, broadcast, computer and IT, and cable TV industries.
Participants include leading names in the industry as well as country pavilions of the United Kingdom, Germany and United States, and exhibitors from Australia, Italy, France, Switzerland, Singapore, Korea, Taiwan and India.
The exhibition is the main highlight of IECEP's 50th anniversary celebration. IECEP is the accredited professional organization of more than 20,000 electronics and communications engineers throughout the country.
A series of seminars and a host of activities will take place during the four-day event. Companies are enjoined to take part in "iecep 2000" which presents an ideal venue for product launchings, technology showcases or marketing activities to a guaranteed audience of industry professionals.
