MANILA, Philippines — The stock market fell yesterday to a 10-month low  as lower economic growth forecasts continued to weigh on investor sentiment.

The bellwether Philippine Stock Exchange index (PSEi) shed 1.12 percent, or 65.12 points, to end yesterday’s session at 5,730.02.

This is the PSEi’s lowest close since finishing at 5,584.35 on Nov. 14, 2025.

The broader All Shares index also tumbled by 1.10 percent, or 35.72 points, settling at 3,210.72.

Philstocks Financial Inc. said the local market recorded its fifth straight day of  decline, as growth outlook downgrades by institutions dampened investor sentiment.

“This comes as S&P Global Ratings and the Asian Development Bank both trimmed their 2026 growth forecasts for the Philippines, the former from 4.1  to 2.9 percent, and the latter from 3.8 to 3.3 percent,” it said.

Philstocks Financial said negative spillovers from Wall Street, driven by rising US Treasury yields, also weighed on the bourse.

All sectors were in negative territory, except holding firms, which advanced by 0.43 percent. The mining and oil index was the day’s biggest casualty, falling 3.79 percent.

Trading was weak as total value turnover thinned to P5.09 billion from the previous day’s P8.89 billion.

Foreigners were net sellers with net outflows of P749.31 million.

Decliners pummeled advancers, 131 to 61, while 57 issues did not change hands.

ICTSI was the most actively traded stock, down 1.67 percent to P885 per share, followed by SM Investments and Ayala Land, which slipped 0.89 percent and 0.80 percent, respectively, to P500 and P14.94.
