P28 million equipment seized at CDO illegal mine site

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, Philippines — Suspected illegal mining equipment valued at P28 million was seized in a police operation in this city on Monday.

The raid at an illegal mining site in Barangay Tumpagon resulted in the seizure of four hydraulic excavators, according to the Mines and Geosciences Bureau.

No one was arrested as mine workers escaped after sensing the arrival of authorities.

Investigation is ongoing to identify people behind the illegal activity.
