Cebu Pacific reviving international flights from Iloilo

MANILA, Philippines — Low-cost carrier Cebu Pacific is starting to recover its international network prior to the Middle East tensions, as it will be resuming direct flights from Iloilo to Southeast Asian cities.

Cebu Pacific yesterday announced the resumption of Iloilo services to Bangkok via Don Mueang and to Singapore starting November.

The revival marks another step in Cebu Pacific’s effort to retrieve its international coverage after taking down some flights to manage fuel consumption.

By Nov. 23, Cebu Pacific will resume Iloilo flights to Bangkok and Singapore. The flights will operate on a thrice-weekly schedule – Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays – giving travelers from Western Visayas the convenience when flying around Southeast Asia.

Bangkok offers guests a variety of cultural and leisure spots, ranging from iconic temples like the Grand Palace and night markets like Chatuchak. Singapore, for its part, is popular for its urban getaways, from waterfront downtown Marina Bay, to shopping street Orchard Road.

Last week, Cebu Pacific confirmed the resumption of Davao flights to Bangkok via Don Mueang and to Hong Kong on thrice and four times weekly schedules, respectively.

The airline owned by the Gokongweis is also boosting local flights from Davao to high-demand destinations, particularly Iloilo and Siargao.

Cebu Pacific is celebrating the return of international flights through provincial hubs with a seat sale until Aug. 31, with fares going as low as P199 per way, exclusive of fees and surcharges.
