DBP rolls out deposit campaign to widen funding base

MANILA, Philippines — State-run Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP) is seeking to attract more deposits to expand its funding base to various support lending activities.

In a statement, DBP president and CEO Michael de Jesus said the bank has launched its “Save 2 Win” campaign to attract fresh deposits from both individual and institutional depositors to expand in financing high-impact developmental projects.

“We believe every deposit entrusted to DBP will help strengthen its capacity to finance transformative projects that will support economic growth, create jobs and improve the lives of communities across the country,” De Jesus said.

DBP’s deposit base rose by 15.5 percent to P413.41 billion in the second quarter from P357.91 billion a year earlier.

The campaign offers cash prizes of up to P250,000 to winning individual depositors and gift certificates to winning institutional depositors and aims to promote greater financial inclusion, especially among underbanked and unbanked segments of the population.

“We hope to inspire more Filipinos to save not only for achieving their personal financial goals but also for contributing to nation-building and achieving sustainable progress,” De Jesus added.

The campaign is open to eligible depositors at all DBP branches nationwide and will run until Dec. 31 this year.
