Venus isinusulong ang Alex-Serena partnership
MANILA, Philippines — Hangad ni dating Grand Slam champion Venus Williams na makapares ni Alex Eala si tennis legend Serena Williams sa doubles.
Ito ay para makumpleto na ni Eala ang “Williams sisters” sa kanyang paglalaro sa doubles.
Sinabi ito ni Venus sa post-game interview.
Natalo sina Venus at Eala sa opening round ng National Bank Open sa Toronto, Canada laban kina Liudmila Samsonova ng Russia at Miyu Kato ng Japan, 4-6, 3-6.
Sa interview, sinabi Venus ang suhestiyon nito kay Eala.
“I think Alex has got to put on her list to play with Serena one day.
Then she can complete the Williams Sisters,” ani Venus.
Hindi naman maitago ni Eala ang saya nito dahil malaking karangalan para sa kanya na makasama sa doubles ang tennis legends na gaya nina Venus at Serena.
“For me it’s super inspiring. The things that the Williams sisters have done for tennis are incredible. They just keep doing it and keep helping us, especially the women in sports,” ani Eala.
Nanood pa si Eala sa laban ni Serena noong naglaro ito sa Wimbledon Championship sa London, England.
“I remember when Serena came back at Wimbledon, I also, I went to watch her game from the stands, like the end of the second and a bit of the third,” ani Eala.
