Gen. Nartatez, aarmasan ang PNP kontra IED!
Marami pang nakaumang na training, sa Pinas man o sa abroad, para sa mga imbestigador ng Philippine National Police, upang matugunan ang makabagong bantang dala ng Improvised Explosive Device (IED), ayon kay PNP chief Gen. Jose Melencio “Tateng” Nartatez Jr. Importante, ani Nartatez, na ang PNP ay magkaroon ng hi-tech na kapabilidad, lalo na ang palitan ng kaalaman sa mga foreign counterparts, at may coordinated responses kasama ang partner agencies. Ipinahayag ni Nartatez ang mga naka line-up na training at seminars sa pagtatapos ng symposium sa Malay, Aklan kung saan dumalo maging ang mga kinatawan ng Australian Federal police. Ang aktibidad ay kasunod ng Southeast Asian International Command seminar, na kapwa nai-host ng PNP at ng Australian police. Sanamagan! Hehehe! Kelangan pa bang i-memorize ‘yan?
“This activity is aimed to equip our personnel with all the necessary skills to properly respond in the interest of peace and order and public safety,” ani Nartatez.
“Through this program, we are able to identify both our strong and weak points in order to further enhance our capability and equipage for various IED threats anytime and anywhere in the country,” ayon pa kay Nartatez. Hindi lang naman IED ang pagtutuunan ng training at seminars ng PNP sa liderato ni Nartatez, kundi maging sa ibang aspeto ng police operations at specializations para kitlin pati ang banta ng kriminalidad. Anong sey n’yo mga kosa? Hehehe! Ambot sa kanding nga may bangs!
Ang IED seminar sa Aklan ay nasa tamang panahon bunga sa pagdiskubre ng bomba sa Senate complex nitong July 27 at maging ang bombing incident sa DOJ building bago ang SONA ni President Bongbong Marcos. Ayon kay Nartatez, ang mga narekuber na components ng bomba sa dalawang insidente ay halos kaparehas ng gawa ng mga grupo sa Southern Philippines. Ano ba ‘yan? Dipugaaaaa!
Sinabi naman ni PRO6 director Brig. Gen. Randulf Tuaño na kasalukuyang ini-implement nila ang pro-active approach sa threats ng IED, kasama ang mga LGUs.
“The PNP chief mentioned earlier that our partnership with the LGUs, with the local chief executives, is a big deal,” ani Tuaño. “The PNP cannot do this kind of threat suppression alone. We need the support of the communities, that’s why they say this kind of training will be followed up after a quarter so that we can increase the number of trained PNP personnel, more helpful PNP members,” ani Tuaño.
