Top Line books Angkas to drive Cebu push

MANILA, Philippines — Top Line Business Development Corp. is riding with Angkas to capture a third of Cebu’s motorcycle taxi market.
The listed Cebu-based fuel distributor and retailer teamed up with the ride-hailing platform to offer Angkas partner riders across the province exclusive fuel and service perks.
The partnership is expected to drive customer traffic at Top Line’s Light Fuels stations by tapping one-third of the Cebu market, which has a 9,000-rider cap under current regulations.
“This partnership has the potential to unlock up to 42,000 liters of liquid fuel sales per day while allowing us to support the daily needs of motorcycle taxi riders who are essential to Cebu’s mobility ecosystem,” Top Line chairman, president and CEO Eugene Erik Lim said.
Through Light Fuels’ rewards program, Angkas partner riders will gain access to discounts of P2 per liter on gasoline and P1 per liter on diesel purchases.
They will also receive one complimentary automatic motorwash every quarter and get the chance to join Light Fuels’ grand raffle.
“As Cebu’s transport and mobility demand continues to grow, we want Light Fuels to be present in the daily journeys of riders, drivers, businesses and communities that keep the local economy moving,” Lim said.
The strategic tie-up comes at a time when motorists continue to grapple with surging fuel costs spurred by the raging geopolitical tensions in the Middle East.
This week, maximum price increases of P10.68 per liter for diesel, P11.77 for kerosene and P3.65 for gasoline were implemented at fuel stations nationwide.
“Fuel is one of the biggest recurring expenses for motorcycle taxi riders,” Angkas head of operations David Brian Medrana said.
“This partnership with Light Fuels gives our Cebu Angkas partner riders access to practical savings and value-added benefits that can directly support their work on the road,” he said.
