Utang ng Pinas, pumalo sa P18.55T nitong Mayo
MANILA, Philippines — Pumalo na sa P18.55 trilyon ang utang ng Pilipinas nitong Mayo 2026 makaraang magkaroon ng dagdag na utang ang bansa sa domestic sources upang makopo ang pangangailangan sa pondo, ayon sa Bureau of Treasury (BTr).
Sa huling record ng BTr, sa end-May level ay nagkaroon ng 0.41 percent na taas ang utang ng Pilipinas mula sa P18.47 trilyong utang noong April 2026.
“The increase was primarily driven by the net inflow of domestic securities as the government continued to raise funds to support funding needs, despite the ongoing Middle Eastern conflict. Meanwhile, the appreciation of the peso against the US dollar and other foreign currencies helped temper the increase,” ayon sa BTR.
Sinasabing ang domestic debt ng bansa ay tumaas ng 0.65 percent na aabot sa P12.5 trilyon habang ang foreign loans ay bumaba sa 0.07 percent o P6.05 trilyon.
