Philippines keeps 14-day visa-free entry for Taiwan travelers

MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine government has extended the duration of visa-free entry for Taiwan passport holders who intend to travel to and stay in the country for no more than 14 days.
The extension was announced by the Manila Economic and Cultural Office (MECO), the representative office of the Philippines in Taiwan, through an advisory released on Tuesday night, June 30.
The extension is effective for one year, starting Wednesday, July 1, until June 30, 2027.
"This effectively extends the same privilege granted to Taiwan passport holders last year, on 01 July 2025," the advisory read.
The office said the extension was granted to "observe reciprocity in the visa-free privileges granted to Philippine passport holders traveling to Taiwan."
It also noted that the privilege is not extendible and convertible to Philippine visa categories.
Those who intend to stay longer in the country, meanwhile, need to secure a visa.
"Standard travel requirements and processes in effect since 01 July 2025 remain applicable. Thus, Taiwan passport holders who intend to visit the Philippines for a stay exceeding 14 days are required to secure a visa before entry," the office said.
