PSC chairman: Where is Baldwin?

MANILA, Philippines — “Where is Ateneo head coach Tab Baldwin?”
That’s the burning question from everyone in the country today, echoed by the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC), as days fly without a single word from the Blue Eagles mentor following the tragic drowning of two of his players in Dipaculao, Aurora.
“Where is Tab Baldwin? Why is he still not speaking up? This is beyond Ateneo. This is a national concern,” said PSC chairman Patrick “Pato” Gregorio, joining a loud call for Baldwin to break his silence and shed a light on what’s deemed as one of the biggest tragedies in Philippine sports history.
“Out of respect for the family and the Filipino people, he has to come forward. He has been here for 10 years. I don’t understand why he can’t understand our culture – konting respeto at pakikipagkapwa naman,” added Gregorio.
Ateneo yesterday announced that Baldwin and team manager Epok Quimpo have taken a leave of absence from the school and the team “to preserve the total integrity, independence, and fairness of this investigation and to ensure all participants can cooperate freely without any actual or perceived pressure.”
“The University is cooperating fully, transparently, and without reservation with all investigations being undertaken by national authorities and competent regulatory bodies.”
