NSC Chief Año nagbitiw sa puwesto

MANILA, Philippines — Nagbitiw sa puwesto si National Security Adviser Eduardo Año dahil umano sa isyung pangkalusugan.

Sa anunsyo ni Palace Press Officer Atty, Claire Castro, tinanggap na ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. ang resignation ni Año  na nagsilbi ng ilang dekada sa gobyerno at sa military.

Pinasalamatan naman ng Pangulo si Año sa kanyang dedikasyon at hindi matatawarang serbisyo sa mga Filipino.

“As a National Security Adviser, he played a key role in strenghtening our national security framework, advancing our conterterrorism and internal security efforts and ensuring close coordination across the security sector during a period of evolving regional and global challenges,” pahayag pa ng Malakanyang.

Itinalaga naman ng Pangulo si Eduardo Oban Jr. bilang kapalit ni Año.

Si Oban ay dating Chief of Staff ng Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) at graduate ng Philippine Military Academy Class of 1979.

Nagsilbi rin si Oban bilang Deputy Chief of Staff for Plans (J5) at pinuno ng Visiting Forces Agreement Commission.
