Workers to get double pay today

MANILA, Philippines — Employees who will opt to work today are getting double their regular daily pay, according to the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).
April 1 has been declared a holiday in observance of Eid’l Fitr or the Feast of Ramadan.
During regular holidays, the DOLE said employees would be paid 200 percent of their regular salary for the first eight hours of work rendered.
Work beyond eight hours will be paid an additional 30 percent of the workers’ rate per hour.
Employees who are required to work on a holiday, which falls on their rest day, will receive an additional 30 percent of their basic wage on top of the 200 percent.
Meanwhile, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority lifted the number coding scheme today.
