Teves humingi ng 2-month leave sa Kamara dahil sa 'banta sa buhay'
MANILA, Philippines — Kinumpirma ng tanggapan ni House Speaker Martin Romualdez na humiling ng dalawang buwang "leave of absence" ang kontrobersyal na si Negros Oriental Rep. Arnolfo Teves Jr.
Natanggap daw ni Romualdez ang nasabing sulat noong ika-15 ng Marso matapos hainan ng reklamong kriminal si Teves para sa "loose firearms and explosives" sa kanyang tahanan. Idinidiin ngayon ang huli bilang utak diumano sa pagpapatumba kay Negros Oriental Gov. Roel Degamo.
"The undersigned Representative of the Third District of Negros Oriental humbly plea and request that he be granted a two-month leave of absence due to very grave security threat to his life and his family, to be reckoned from March 9, 2023," ani Teves sa liham kay Romualdez.
"Rest assured that he will come back as soon as the threat will be dealt with accordingly under our laws, and with the aid of the government."

Ilang araw pa lang ang nakalilipas nang sabihin ng mga abogado ni Teves na plano talaga niyang umuwi ng Pilipinas ngunit hindi pa ito magawa dahil sa mga problemang pangseguridad.
Ika-9 ng Marso pa napaso ang kanyang travel authority kung kaya't pinagpapaliwanag siya ngayon ng ethics and privileges committee ng Kamara kung bakit hindi pa rin siya bumabalik ng Pilipinas para magtrabaho. Nasa Estados Unidos pa rin siya dahil sa isang "personal trip."
Matatandaang ika-4 ng Marso nang pagbabarilin si Degamo habang inaasikaso ang ilang benepisyaryo ng Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program sa kanilang tahanan.
