'Red-tagging' ng NTF-ELCAC sa mga unyon ng Korte Suprema, Senado tinuligsa
MANILA, Philippines — Hindi pinalampas ng sari-saring grupo ang mga patutsada ng National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC) at National Intelligence Coordinating Agency (NICA) matapos nilang iugnay sa rebeldeng Communist Party of the Philippines-New People's Army (CPP-NPA) ang mga lehitimong samahan ng mga empleyado sa gobyerno.
Miyerkules nang tawaging "terorista" ni NTF-ELCAC spokesperson Lorraine Badoy si Erwin Ocson, presidente ng Supreme Court Employees Association at the Judiciary Employees Association. Aniya, "lider" diumano ang nabanggit ng Makabayang Kawaning Pilipino (MKP) — isang organisasyong kaalyado ng CPP-NPA.
Bagama't lihim ang kasapian, hindi iligal ang CPP at National Democratic Front (NDF) kung pagbabatayan ang batas. Miyember organization ng NDF ang MKP.

"We at the Judiciary Employees Association (JUDEA) and Supreme Court Employees Association (SCEA) condemn and denounce the malicious, baseless, blatant falsehoods and red-tagging against me and our court employees associations, as claimed by Ms. Lorraine Badoy of the PCOO and NTF-ELCAC," ani Ocson, Huwebes.
"We do not advocate violence and armed conflict in our ranks and organization... Likewise, we do not pursue to overthrow the government, but rather give suggestions and find solutions to the concerns of the employees on the issues affecting our jobs, salaries, benefits, working conditions, and democratic rights."
Aniya, dapat kundenahin ang mga sinasabi ni Badoy lalo na't nailalagay ang mga buhay nila bilang taong-gobyerno sa panganib. Pagtapak daw ito sa kanilang karapatan sa Saligang Batas na magsalita, mag-unyon at bumuo ng mga asosasyon.
Una nang sinabi ni Badoy na kaalyado ng JUDEA at SCEA ang Confederation for Unity, Recognition, and Advancement of Government Employees (COURAGE), isang organisasyong idinidikit ng NICA sa CPP-NPA-NDF. Ligal na organisasyon ito.
'Unahin ang COVID-19 kaysa red-tagging'
Giit pa ni Ocson, mas mainam na ibuhos na lang ng gobyerno ang buong lakas nito upang puksain ang coronavirus disease (COVID-19), imbis na tawaging "terorista" at i-"witch-hunt" ang kanilang hanay.
"We seek the protection of our ranks by requesting support for PPEs, monthly supply of vitamins, health, food and financial assistance... [We] the employees of the judiciary strive to unite for protection among our ranks against the menace of COVID 19," dagdag niya.
"We would rather act for our welfare than risk our lives in the courts and die to topple the government which we render public service... Support the bill against red-tagging. We are unionists not terrorists!"
Sa huling taya ng Department of Health (DOH) kanina, umabot na sa 828,366 ang tinatamaan ng COVID-19 sa bansa. Patay na sa ngayon ang 14,119 sa kanila.
Senate employees binibira rin
Kanina lang din nang depensahan ni Sen. Leila de Lima ang Sandigan ng mga Empleyadong Nagkakaisa sa Adhikain ng Demokratikong Organisasyon (SENADO) at COURAGE ngayong idinidiin din nina NICA director general Alex Paul Monteagudo at Badoy ang dalawa sa komunistang rebelyon ilang araw lang ang nakalilipas.
Hinala tuloy ni De Lima, ginagawa ito ni Monteagudo matapos birahin ng mga senador ang aniya'y "palpak" na COVID-19 response ng gobyerno.
"My office has been working closely with the union in upholding the rights of Senate employees... SENADO is not pro-communist, it is pro-employees' rights. Wala na bang ibang maisip na gimik ang mga red-taggers na ito at pati Senado ng Pilipinas paparatangan na communist coddler?" dagdag ng opposition senator.
"Director Monteagudo, what a waste of intel funds lalo na sa panahon na gutom at nagkakasakit ang mga tao."
Natataon ito matapos kastiguhin ni Badoy sina De Lima, Minority Senate Minority Leader Franklin Drilon, Sen. Risa Hontiveros at Sen. Francis Pangilinan matapos nilang manawagan para ipasa ang Senate Bill 2121, bagay na nagpapataw ng 10-taong kulong sa mga manre-redtag kaugnay ng kampanya ng kontra-insurhensya.
