Impeach vs 7 justices ibinasura ng Kamara
MANILA, Philippines — Ibinasura na ng House justice committee ang impeachment complaint laban sa pitong mahistrado ng Korte Suprema na pumabor sa quo warranto petition laban kay dating Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno.
Sa naganap na botohan, 23 miyembro ng justice committee ang bumoto na insufficient in substance ang reklamong impeachment nina Albay Rep. Edcel Lagman, Magdalo Rep. Gary Alejano at Ifugao Rep. Teddy Baguilat laban kina Chief Justice Teresita Leonardo de Castro, Associate Justices Diosdado Peralta, Lucas Bersamin, Francis Jardeleza, Noel Tijam, Andres Reyes Jr., at Alexander Gesmundo.
Tanging si Siquijor Rep. Rav Rocamora lang ang bumoto na sufficient in substance ang complaint.
Dahilan dito kaya hindi na didiretso sa determination of probable cause ang reklamo sa mga mahistrado ng Korte Suprema.
Itinakda naman sa Setyembre 18 ang paggawa ng committee report na isusumite sa plenaryo para pormal na i-report ang pagkakabasura ng complaint.
