Quo warranto labanan – Leni
MANILA, Philippines — Nanawagan si Vice Pres. Leni Robredo sa mga Pilipino na tumindig laban sa quo warranto case kay Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno.
Sa forum sa Philippine judicial system sa UP-Diliman, sinabi ni Robredo na bilang halal na bise presidente ay gagawin niya ang lahat upang itama ang mali.
“We just can’t be silent amid the darkness brought by these events in the past months. We need to set aside our fear and fight for our judiciary, because this was established to give protection to the ordinary citizens and not to be used as a weapon of those who are in power,” wika pa nito na umani ng palakpak sa mga nakikinig kabilang ang mga human rights advocates.
Sinabi ni Robredo na isang abugado, ang kaso ng quo warranto laban kay Sereno, kapag nagtagumpay, ay maaaring maging “final blow” sa “ideal” ng hustisya na ating sinasandigan.
“It can hit us more than once: it tramples our Constitution, as well as coopts one of its foundations. It weaponizes the courts and if we allow it, a quo warranto can be used as a weapon of intimidation, to kill dissent,” dagdag nito.
