P1B pondo ayuda sa mga magsasaka
MANILA, Philippines - Inatasan ni Pangulong Aquino ang Department of Budget and Management (DBM) na magpalabas ng P1 bilyon pondo sa Department of Agriculture para sa pagpapatupad ng Agrarian Production Credit Program sa mga magsasaka sa buong bansa.
Sinabi naman ni Budget Sec. Florencio Abad, ang nasabing halaga ay nakapaloob sa 2012 General Appropriations Act at sang-ayon sa Memorandum of Agreement sa pagitan ng DA, Department of Agrarian Reform at Land Bank of the Philippines.
Sa ilalim ng MOA ay maglalaan ng P1bilyon ang DA sa Land Bank kung saan P300 milyon dito ay para sa magsasaka ng Negros Occidental.
“The ACPC will help ensure the sustainable and effective production of crops nationwide, in addition to boosting the income of farmer-beneficiaries. Prior to this, agrarian reform beneficiaries have received meagre credit assistance, resulting in limited crop production and slower economic growth among beneficiary households,” paliwanag pa ni Abad.
