Dayaan noong 2004, 2007 elections iimbestigahan na ng Senado

MANILA, Philippines - Sisimulan ngayon ng Senate Committee on Accountability of Public Officers and Investigation o Blue Ribbon na pinamumunuan ni Senator Teofisto Guingona ang imbestigasyon kaugnay sa dayaang nangyari noong 2004 at 2007 elections.

Kasama ng Blue Ribbon na mag-iimbestiga sa isyu ang Committee on Electoral Reforms sa ganap na alas-9 ngayong umaga.

Nauna ng sinabi ni Guingona na dapat magkaroon ng linaw ang sinasabing malawakang dayaan na parehong naganap noong nakaupo pa sa puwesto si dating Pangulong Gloria Arroyo.

Matatandaan na na­ging kontrobersiyal ang presidential elections noong 2004 dahil sa pagsulpot ng “Hello Garci” scandal kung saan nahu­ling kinausap ni Arroyo si dating Commission on Elections Commissioner Virgilio Garcillano.

May mga lumutang namang testigo kamakailan na nagsasabing ipinag-utos umano ng dating Pangulo na dapat manalo ang mga kandidato ng administrasyon sa Team Unity noong 2007 senatorial elections.

Kabilang sa mga inim­bitahan ng komite sina Atty. Renault Macarambon, ang head ng Election and Barangay Affairs Division ng Commission on Elections (Comelec); Atty. Rey Sumalipao na siyang regional director sa Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM); Col. Alexander Balutan; at si dating Shariah Circuit Court Judge Atty. Nagamura Moner.

Papaharapin din sa pagdinig sina dating airport manager Alfonso Cusi at dating Justice Secretary Agnes Devanadera at maging si Lin­tang Bedol, na dating Maguindanao Election supervisor.
